It's getting scarier with the threats from Al Qaida. We have to go and hope for the best. We will only be in Paris for 3 nights.
Osama Bin Laden Threatens French

Osama Bin Laden or someone claiming to be the leader of Al Qaida is threatening France for supporting the war in Afghanistan, and banning face-covering veils.
"In the tape obtained by satellite television station Al-Jazeera and then posted on its website on Wednesday, bin Laden said France was aiding the Americans in the killing of Muslim women and children in an apparent reference to the war in Afghanistan. He said the kidnapping of five French citizens in the African nation of Niger last month was a reaction to what he called France's oppression of Muslims", according to Yahoo News.
It is clear that the tape is a threat to the French, but as usual, he takes his jabs at the United States. He even includes George W. Bush in his rhetoric. For a guy who is so tough and powerful, it is a wonder he doesn't appear in public. If he is so tough, what is he hiding from?
The United States and French presidents aren't in hiding, so why is this terrorist leader? Is he a coward, or is it he doesn't exist? The latter is more likely. Come out Bin Laden and stand up and be a man instead of a coward who makes tapes.

Documents
We received our documents from AMA Waterways yesterday. They are very nice. They come in a nice bag with a book and itinerary.
The only component that I haven't booked yet is our transfer from the ship in Amsterdam to the airport. I need to do that soon!

Terror Alert for Europe
We haven't been safe in our own country since September 11th. At that time, mom and I were in Las Vegas. Hoping and praying that we have a wonderful time and that these people are captured and can never hurt anyone else.

Europe
The State Department alerts U.S. citizens to the potential for terrorist attacks in Europe. Current information suggests that al-Qa’ida and affiliated organizations continue to plan terrorist attacks. European governments have taken action to guard against a terrorist attack and some have spoken publicly about the heightened threat conditions.
Terrorists may elect to use a variety of means and weapons and target both official and private interests. U.S. citizens are reminded of the potential for terrorists to attack public transportation systems and other tourist infrastructure. Terrorists have targeted and attacked subway and rail systems, as well as aviation and maritime services. U.S. citizens should take every precaution to be aware of their surroundings and to adopt appropriate safety measures to protect themselves when traveling.
We continue to work closely with our European allies on the threat from international terrorism, including al-Qa’ida. Information is routinely shared between the U.S. and our key partners in order to disrupt terrorist plotting, identify and take action against potential operatives, and strengthen our defenses against potential threats.
We recommend U.S. citizens register their travel plans with the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy through the State Department's travel registration website.
