Sleepless in Paris
I couldn't sleep at all, so I tried to quietly sneak out to use the computer at 3:00 a.m.
Breakfast
Again, mom didn't go to breakfast, so I went by myself. It was very busy with about 10 businessmen.
Montmartre and Shopping
We took the 95 bus to Montmarte, but never ended up there. So, we got off in an area with nice stores and Christmas decorations (near the Auberge subway station). The main department store is called Printemps. We explored the store, which had many levels, and at the very top, an ope-air cafeteria with beautiful views of Paris. That was the best discovery. Printemp's windows had beautiful Christmas displays like Marshall Fields used to have. There was also and H&M and C&A in the area.
Lunch
We took the 95 bus back and picked up lunch at the Creperie on the corner. I got a Ham and Cheese Crepe and mom had a Tomato and Mozzarella Pannini. We walked back to the hotel, checked messages, and headed out again.
More Exploring
We walked to the other block and there were mostly Chinese restaurants and pizzerias.
Cinema
We went to the cinema and saw the movie RED, which was really good, but I felt like de ja vu. When we came out, it was drizzling.
Police
There were a lot of police in the area who blocked off the street, and were stopping motorcycles and cars and were checking them. We figured that something terrorist-related was going on.
Dinner
We walked a few blocks to a restaurant that our hotel recommended called Le Chez Clement. It was a very cute restaurant with copper pots and a nautical theme. I had an authentic French meal and mom had a steak. It was a nice dinner to end our stay in Paris.
Dessert
We got a piece of Belgium chocolate on the way back to the hotel and got ready to leave Paris.
